Stephen Brehm will be exhibiting his oil paintings at Isadore Gallery, 228 N. Prince Street in Lancaster during the month of April.
The view of the meadow and stream from his studio in Leola has provided the inspiration for many of these paintings. Brehm explores the properties and colors of oil paint on canvas while trying to capture the glow on a meadow, a sunlit tree against a clear sky, the colors in a shadow--the light and atmosphere of moments in time.
Brehm graduated from Millersville University in 1987 with a fine arts degree in painting and figure drawing. After 10 years working in graphic design and carpentry, he put away his saws and tape measures and dusted off his easel, paint tubes and brushes. He now devotes himself exclusively to his art.
Brehm has won first place at painting shows in New Hope, Lititz, Chadds Ford and Mt. Gretna and was featured in Philadelphia Style Magazine.
Moments in Time will be on exhibit April 2 –25 at Isadore Gallery, 228 N. Prince Street in Lancaster, PA. Normal gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays 10-6, Saturdays 10-5 and by appointment call 299-0127. Please come and meet the artist during our First Friday reception on April 3, 5-9 PM and during Lancaster Artwalk, April 18 and 19.
