Two For The Show: Ed and Sheila Letven
September 4 - September 27, 2008
"First Friday" Reception September 5th, 5-9PM
Two For The Show at Isadore Gallery features the creations of Ed and Sheila Letven, a married couple who have made successful careers of their art talents.
Ed Letven describes his paintings as “romantic landscapes”. Working in oils and watercolors, Ed Letven seeks to record images of the countryside he treasures and fears is vanishing. Ed Letven has had an extremely varied professional life as an artist and as an illustrator, photographer, and art director. His work is included in corporate collections such as Hitachi, Sunoco, and Coors, and he is featured in the book “Best of Pennsylvania Painters”.
Sheila Letven experiments with images using her printmaking, painting, and photography skills. The beauty of nature and the changing seasons of life in Pennsylvania offer endless subject matter for her to explore. Sheila Letven graduated from Moore College of Art and worked as a fabric designer in New York City. She exhibits widely and was recently featured in an article in the Sunday New York Times for one of her photographs.
Two For The Show may be seen at Isadore Gallery, 228 N. Prince Street, September 4-27. Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays 10-6, Saturdays, 10-5, and by appointment call 717-299-0127. The artists will be present at the First Friday reception on September 5, 5-9 PM.
