Isadore Gallery is please to exhibit “New Work” By the Echo Valley Art Group from March 27 through April 26.

The Echo Valley Art Group gets its name from the Echo Valley farm on the south edge of Neffsville, PA where Peggy Dodge and a few friends began to meet to study and practice art in 1945. Since then the Echo Valley Art Group has grown into a group of professional artists whose size is intentionally limited to twenty-five, so they can meet monthly in each others’ homes and studios and can exhibit together annually in a gallery or museum. The art ranges from realistic, traditional watercolors and oils, to wonderfully expressionistic acrylics, functional or decorative ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, and always some surprises. The group, collectively, has centuries of art production, many awards, and some fascinating stories to tell. Susan Gottlieb travels the world to paint. Hubert FitzGerald went to Carnegie Mellon with Andy Warhol. Dick Whitson designed sets and posters for the Fulton Opera House. Joann Hensel is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society. Ron Sykes has many bronze sculptures in downtown Lancaster. Some of Lancaster’s best known artists are and have been members of Echo Valley, including Pauline Stauffer, Florence Starr Taylor, David Brumbach, and Leonard Ragouzeos. Some current members were designers for Armstrong World Industries. Other EVAG members serve on the faculties of area schools and universities and have been instrumental in helping to create the current visual arts renaissance in the region. EVAG work is frequently included in regional and national juried exhibitions and is featured in many private and museum collections.

Current group members are – Carol Anspach, Dan Burns, Ann DeLaurentis, Reed Dixon, William Early, Hubert Fitzgerald, Bruce Fry, Jim Gallagher, Jeff Geib, Carol Galligan, Susan Gottlieb, Caroline Henderson, Joann Hensel, Kenneth Hoak, Constantine Kermes, Kenneth Kirsten, Robert Lyon, Carol Morgan, Richard Ressel, Peg Richards, Abby Rudisill, Carol Toner Shane, Scott Spangler, Ronald Sykes, and Richard Whitson.

Artists from the group will be on hand to discuss their work on Artists’ Saturday, March 29th, and look forward to meeting the public. “New Work” by the Echo Valley Art Group will also be on display for First Friday, April 4, and Art Walk, April 19-20.
