Art For Giving at Isadore Gallery

Art For Giving

December 6 - December 29, 2007
"First Friday" Reception December 7th, 5-9PM

The December show at Isadore Gallery features “Art For Giving”. It includes small unique items that would make beautiful and useful gifts.

Handmade crafts for sale include wearable and functional art. Each of Ananda Khalsa’s jewelry pieces contains one of her tiny original paintings on paper handset behind glass with fine silver frames. Sonya Mackintosh offers for your gift-giving her original fiber creations including scarves, wraps and decorative woolen pins to provide both warmth and flair to your wardrobe. Isadore Gallery will also have some of the elegant and one-of-a-kind glass pieces by Will Dexter, known for his drip glass vases that contain dichroic glass to make them sparkle. Jonathan Simon’s woodenware at Isadore Gallery has a unique sense of balance and warmth because it is designed with the hand and purpose in mind.” Isadore Gallery will also feature pottery by Mariko Swisher inspired by ethnic and folk pottery, Tony Martin’s figurative cups and Angie Shope’s whimsical vessels.

There will be a myriad of small works of wall art perfect for gift giving. Ashley Lucas likes to photograph scenes of tiny small objects that make people feel happy such as toy trains and snowman cakes. Magdalen C. Mowery exhibits her mirrors framed with handcrafted tiles. There will be colorful mixed media constructions by Ron Ettleman, hand-painted prints from tracings Brant Schuller makes on his car window while traveling, decorative clocks by Aaron Brooks, drawings by Jeff Geib, encaustic paintings by Kristen Woodward, surrealistic landscapes by James V. Freeman, scenic oil paintings by Ed Letven, and gouache landscapes by Charles Swisher.

Isadore Gallery is located at 228 North Prince Street in Lancaster. Gallery hours during the holiday season are Thursday 10-6, Friday, 10-8, and Saturdays 10-5. The Gallery will be participating in Music Friday on November 30 from 5-9 and the customary First Friday reception will be held on December 7, 5-9 PM.
